Remember. Dream. Imagine. Share.

On June 15, 2024, Blue Lab staged the inaugural installation of our Popup Story Patch public art project at the Morris Arboretum & Gardens in Philadelphia.

Invoking imagination, memory, speculation and active engagement, the Popup Story Patch invited visitors into conversations, experiences and creative projects that might reframe how they think about their relationships to the more-than-human world.

Our short film about the Popup Story Patch is, in its essence, a big box of love letters to the animals, plants and places that have most moved them.

Tour the popup story patch engagement stations!

The Popup Story Patch comprised four "engagement stations" that asked visitors to consider some of the animals, plants and places that have captivated their imaginations. These could be multispecies family members, lively presences in yards or neighborhoods, and reminders of ecological loss or places they've called home.
